Guest guest
Folks: I have posted this to several groups, not all of them vegetarian The potluck will be mostly vegetarian, and I'll ask that dishes that are not be identified or segregated. Sorry, but some of my friends from other groups have (or believe they have) health reasons for needing to eat meat, and I'm hesistant to do anything to discourage anybody from attending Peace the 21st, a favorite event of mine. The light refreshments served after the meditation for peace and sufi dancing (actually, Dances of Universal Peace) will be vegetarian, but probably pretty high in sugar (lots of punch/juice and cookies). Namaste, Pete (408)246-0737 Friends: Please consider attending this meditation for peace (observed in over 42 countries!), followed by a talk, some Dances of Universal Peace (no prior experience needed) and some socializing over light refreshments, to be held from 7:00-9:00 a week from Saturday, June 19th. For more details see the attached email below from the organizers: Gui, Murielle and Fatima If you are interested in joining some of us beforehand in Mitchell Park (adjacent to the Unitarian Universalist Church where Peace the 21st will be held, let me know. If there is interest, we will arrange a potluck there between 5:30 and 6:45 before heading over to the church. Namaste, Pete (408)246-0737 You are cordially invited to the summer solstice vigil for world peace sponsored by Golden Gate Peace the 21st on Saturday, June 19. This event provides a calm space in which to reflect and meditate for a while, focus on peace within and without, and meet with others having the same interest. This will be on the evening before Father's Day--a good time to bring a friend or relative and to join us in peace. The event will be at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Palo Alto at 505 East Charleston, between Alma Street and Middlefield Road, in the Fireside Room next to the main hall. For those of you not familiar with this location, the exit driveway from the church is the stoplight on East Charleston at Nelson Drive, one block west of Middlefield Road. The driveway entrance is about 150 feet west of the exit and is marked by a lighted sign. The program from 7:00 to 9:00 PM includes meditation and Dances of Universal Peace, with refreshments at the end. Chairs are available for the meditation, but you may bring a pillow to sit on, if you prefer. Peace the 21st is a cooperative worldwide network of people of all faiths and beliefs in over 42 countries praying, visualizing, and meditating together for world peace on or near the solstices and equinoxes. Golden Gate Peace the 21st is our local community prayer/meditation gathering to support our daily personal/planetary peace focus. Please come and join us.
