IMC Redwood City: Singles Brunch this Sunday, Feb. 8th

This is not an exclusively veggie event, but Joy Meadow has many veggie

options and this excellent Buddhist Group's values closely match ours. In addition

many of our members have attended sittings and various events with this

group and have enjoyed the camaraderie immensely. This is the same

group that organized last Saturday night's "Nonattached Beings" event

which posted on SouthBayVeggies and attended by some members.

Please consider joining us this Sunday, Feb 8th, for our Second Sunday Singles Brunch. We will gather near the IMC's (Insight Meditation Center's) kitchen corner following the sitting (11-ish a.m.), or you can meet us at Joy Meadow Restaurant, just down the street at 701 El Camino Real in Redwood City, at around 11:15 a.m.

I recommend coming for whatever activities you can at the IMC before brunch, particularly the dharma talk at 10:00. See below for schedule of activities at IMC

in the morning and for directions to the IMC. A few of us may go for a

hike at Edgewood Park after brunch, weather permitting.

******* DIRECTIONS and Regular Activities at IMC  on Sundays ***************

 

Sunday Morning Sittings and Talk

1st Sitting 8:30 to 9:10 a.m.

Walking Meditation 9:10 to 9:25 a.m.

2nd Sitting 9:25 to 10 a.m.

Speaker 10 to 10:45 a.m.    (sometimes goes to 11:00)

Brunch: Meet at IMC at 11:00 or at 11:15 at Joy Meadow

 

You are not required to attend for all activities. You can

arrive just for the Speaker, for instance. You can even

just come for the brunch, but I recommend at least coming

for the talk.

 

Directions to the IMC:

From 101:

    * Take Whipple exit.

    * Go west. Turn left on El Camino Real (south).

    * Make the first right onto Hopkins.

    * The center is located at the corner of Birch and

Hopkins.

From 280:

    * Take Farm Hill exit and go east. Farm Hill

becomes Jefferson.

    * Turn left on El Camino Real (north).

    * Turn left on Hopkins.

    * The center is located at the corner of Birch and

Hopkins.

 

PARKING INSTRUCTIONs

 

Please reserve spaces in our Center's parking lot and

immediately adjacent to the Center for those in need.

The parking lot kitty corner from the Center (Manzo

Dental on Hopkins ) is open to our members for parking

on evenings and weekends.

The large lot behind 160 Birch (next to the VA center

at 2946 Broadway) is available to us for parking on

Sundays ONLY.

Please do not park in any of the other professional

office parking lots. Ample street parking is

available.
