Guest guest
If there are people in this area or willing to drive over the hill from theSilicon Valley or wherever, we could share some munchies or real food and agood movie or two. (I'm in Scotts Valley). Maybe on a semi-regular basis or something.A Free and easy way to connect with locals. My tv room isn't that big, but could probably hold 6-8 people ( w/32" TV)/I'm a film buff of sorts, got lot's of great movies on dvd and vhs that mostpeople have not even heard of; films that touch the heart and mind andspirit. i.e.- 'Amandla'- film abouthow music kept the people of South Africa united against their oppressors(lots of great singing and dancing); 'Innocence' - an Aussie film about thepassionate love between 2 young lovers who lost contact, and refound eachother 40 years later or so (1 is married); 'Two Deaths' - film by NicolasRoeg about a group of people, longtime friends, each with hidden secretsthat come out in the midst of a stressful night in a war torneastern block type country; or 'Exotica' - a film by Atom Egoyan that dealswith grieving and loss and people using sex to cover up their truer feelingsor 'the Burmese Harp' a beautiful Japanese film from the 50's where aJapanese soldier has a spiritual transformation in the midst of a war zoneand becomes a Buddhist Monk..or the great earlier Woody Allen movies, or KenRussell, or Kurosawa's greatest film (IMHO) 'the Lower Depths'... orBergmann's 'Cries & Whispers'...and many more. There's something very niceabout sharing a great movie with a bunch of good people. And others of us could bring their 'great' movies too. If anyone knows ofgood pagan/counterculture/deep/light films to share. Just thought it mightbe a good way to network and meet some new people.email me if interested and to work out a good time to do it.~Ronni
