Guest guest
Hi again, everyone! This is a reminder that SBVS member Laurie Tanenbaum will be performing klezmer music with her band, Hoo Tza Tza, at a special concert on Sunday, February 1st, at 3 PM at Congregation Beth David in Saratoga. Fellow SBVS member Miriam Leiseroff is coordinating the concert and has generously agreed to give SBVS members a $7 discount off the regular ticket price, provided we get together a group of at least 10 people. If you would like to join us at this fun performance, you must send me a check for $18 made out to Congregation Sinai Sisterhood by no later than Thursday, January 29th; here is my mailing address: Shoshana Billik 360 Sunkist Lane Los Altos, CA 94022 Below is the information about the concert. I hope y'all can join us there! Take care, Shoshana Hoo Tza Tza is an ensemble of accomplished local musicians performing a soulful and exuberant serenade of Yiddish Klezmer, Middle Eastern, Sephardic, and original dance music. In the shetls of Eastern Europe, dancing to the Klezmorim was a time for people of all ages to get together and shine. Hoo Tza Tza continues that lively tradition here in the Bay Area, where they have performed for concerts, festivals, clubs, dance workshops, parties, celebrations and simchas for the past ten years. Led by violinist and dancer Laurie B. Tanenbaum, Hoo Tza Tza is featured in the Oxford University Press American Musicspheres Series. When: Sunday, February 1, 2004 3:00 PM Where: Congregation Beth David 19700 Prospect Avenue Saratoga, CA 95070 Cost: $18.00 for Sinai and Beth David members (and for SBVS members if we get at least 10 people to go) $10.00 for Seniors $25.00 general public For further information contact Miriam Leiseroff at 408.294.7935 or 408.294.8585. ***************************************************** * Shoshana Bella Billik * shoshana * * ---- * ------------------------- * * http://www.billik.com/shoshana/ * sbillik * *****************************************************
