Guest guest
Hello, at Dave's recently I expressed an opinion, based on the directors and a critic, but not a first-hand experience, that " Intolerable Cruelty " is worth going to. Well, I feel thus obliged to retract, should you be inclined to waste your time or money because of my voice, that based on first-hand experience, but not the directors or a critic, it's not. ------------ On another topic, Lori Patotzka asked me about the Slough. There were hundreds of yellow and white pelicans, and such big birds do not come in such big herds. Never seen that many. Strangely, they were just sitting around the islands when I was going in, and the same when I was coming out of the slough. Not making a living. Next, harbor seals, there were normal numbers, perhaps a hundred, but I've never been this close to them - I bumped into one with my paddleboard. Finally, of the three signature animals of the slough, sea otters - I saw very few this time, but at least one was working - float on the back, position a shell on the belly and bang with a stone. I've seen it many times, but it is always a spectacle. Unfortunately, in the afternoon, the power was out in Capitola and so Dharma's was essentially out of business. Nobody else came this time, but that is fine with me, I wanted to see some great wildlife and invite some other people only if they were interested. I used the occasion of being there by myself for the first time, to paddle to the end of the slough and back, and I am now nursing a sore shoulder. If someone else should want to organise this again on a weekend day, I will come, so that way, you are assured to have at least 2 people You can rent kayaks at Kayak Connection in Watsonville off Hwy 1, and you want to choose the day and time so that you can get started about 2 hours before the high tide and at least 4 hours before they close.
