Here's another try.

 

I should mention that this is being posted to a

number of spiritual groups (srsingles,

bayareabuddhistsingles, exploringspiritualpartnership),

and while the proportion of vegetarians in these groups

is pretty high, there will be non-vegan and there may

even be non-vegetarian dishes at the potluck.

Peace the 21st is coming this Sunday!

 

Summary

Where: Unitarian Universalist Church,

505 E. Charleston, Palo Alto

What: : A cooperative worldwide network

of people of all faiths and beliefs in over 42

countries praying, visualizing,

and meditating together for world peace on

or near the solstices and

equinoxes. Meditation will be followed by

Dances of Universal Peace (easy to learn

singing with simple steps; related to Sufi dancing.

When: Sunday, September 21st, 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m.

 

 

Some of us will meet in Mitchell Park for a

loosely organized potluck between 5:00 and 6:45

before heading over to the church

(a short walk from there).

You are cordially invited to the fall equinox vigil for world peace sponsored

by Golden Gate Peace the 21st

on this Sunday, September 21. In this change of seasons and amidst what

appears to be a state of perpetual

war, this event provides a calm space in which to reflect and meditate for a

while, focus on bringing peace

to the world, and meet with others having the same interest. Feel free to

bring a friend or relative and join

us on this Sunday evening.

 

The event will be our third meeting in the Unitarian Universalist Church in

Palo Alto at 505 East Charleston,

between Alma Street and Middlefield Road, in the Fireside Room next to the

main hall. For those of you not

familiar with this location, the exit driveway from the church is the

stoplight on East Charleston at Nelson

Drive, one block west of Middlefield Road. The driveway entrance is about 150

feet west of the exit and is

marked by a lighted sign.

 

The program from 7:00 to 9:00 PM includes meditation and Dances of Universal

Peace, with refreshments at

the end. Chairs are available for the meditation, but you may bring a pillow

to sit on, if you prefer.

Gate Peace the 21st is our local community prayer/meditation gathering to

support our daily
