Room available in Palo Alto vegetarian cooperative

We are looking for a friendly, housemate to share our spacious house

in Palo Alto. The house is located in a residential area near El

Camino and Arastradero Rd, we have a large backyard with an organic

vegetable garden, a hot tub, and a few trees. The room that is for

rent has it's own half-bath, closet, NE entrance and hardwood floors.

Rent is $595 a month, plus board which usually comes in at around

$150. Board covers utilities and the communal food, which includes

weekly boxes from a CSA.

We are 4 males and 2 females who share common space, food purchasing,

chores and bills (phone, electric, water, etc.) and have (kind-of)

free DSL for the house. We are six mid-20's to late 30's energetic,

creative and excellent people who work in a variety of fields

including: experiential outdoor education, software engineering,

organic chemistry, community planning and professional academic

studies.

We are looking for a like-minded person who is thoroughly interested

in living in a shared housing situation, likes to be social, does not

watch much tv (our television is old and rickety, has no cable or

broadcast reception, and stays in a corner unless wheeled out for the

occassional video viewing experience), is willing to eat vegetarian at

home (the house is meat free but dairy is allowed as are eggs) and is

willing to do their weekly chores and occassionally likes to

socialize.

Our schedules are varied, somne of us can be found at home during the

week, others work late, some leave every weekend. Currently we have a

cat, but she is moving out of the house and might negotiate pets that

come with housemates (and some of us, at least, would be more than

happy for our next roommate to have a cat).

In addition to our professional endeavors we are climbers, kayakers,

bakers, cyclists, cooks, gardeners, musicians, entertainers and fun.
