EarthSave monthly dinner and lecture:

" The Quest for the Optimal Diet "

Palo Alto

 

EarthSave is honored to present Christopher Gardner,

PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Medicine

at Stanford University & Director of Nutrition Studies

at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease

Prevention. Dr. Gardner's recent research involves

plant-based diets, chemicals in plants, and heart

disease prevention. The National Center for

Complementary and Alternative Medicine, a branch of

the National Institutes of Health, is funding Dr.

Gardner's 4 current research projects: 1) examining

the effects of soy isoflavones relating to breast and

prostate cancer and bone health; 2) studying the

effects of ginkgo biloba on artery disease; 3)

studying the effects of fresh garlic vs. commercial

garlic supplements on cholesterol and blood

pressure; and 4) comparing the effectiveness of

popular weight loss diets (Atkins, Zone and Ornish.)

 

The event will be held at Foundation for Global

Community, 222 High Street, Palo Alto. Advance
