The first one has an outstanding singles group called, " Non-Attached Beings " that exists within http://www.midpeninsight.org. Several of us went to their singles event last night and had a blast ! Jikoji Zen Center is located on Skyline (35) 2 miles north of Highway 9 in a dramatic setting in the Santa Cruz Mtns. near Long's Ridge Open Space Preserve. http://www.zendo.com/~jikoji/jikoji.html and http://www.zendo.com/~jikoji/map.html Jikoji has an excellent Saturday morning program that is well worth the drive up Highway 9. The services start at 9:00 a.m. - zazen sitting,10:30 a.m. - minor work service, 10:45 a.m. - talk, 12:00 p.m. - lunch (usually a hearty macrobiotic meal of miso soup and and brown rice + a choice of teas. Lastly, as we enter our one year anniversary, though the group's focus will continue to be creating community for those interested in vegetarianism and/or veganism within Santa Clara County, from time to time expect to see postings for events outside the county and for events of similiarly like minded topics such as Judiasm, activism, Buddhism, Yoga, eastern philosophy, hiking, nature, biodiversity, animals, nature preservation/enjoyment, and eco travel. Please respect the ethics of the group i.e. only use this list to post events that are of a relevant nature to this group.
