Guest guest
Perhaps you have already received this, but in case not, here it is: Friends, In his State of the Union address, George Bush made it clear that the U.S. is prepared to attack Iraq without a United Nation's mandate. Please join hundreds of thousands of others at two huge peace rallies to express your opposition to a war that would cost 50 to 200 billion dollars, and, according to a United Nations report, could kill 500,000 Iraqi civilians. Such a war would fuel the fire of hatred towards America, and would likely inspire more terrorism. And, if Saddam Hussein does have chemical and biological weapons, he would likely use them if attacked. I hope to see you on February 1 and 16. Please forward this message to everyone you know. -Peter ------------- Peninsula Regional Anti-War Rally - March and Peace Concert Saturday, February 1 in Palo Alto Palo Alto City Hall Plaza, 250 Hamilton Avenue (between Bryant and Ramona) Noon - Rally 1:30pm - Peace March down University Ave. 2pm - Peace Concert back at City Hall For more information contact the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center: http://www.peaceandjustice.org, (650) 326-8837, ppjc ------------- Mass March to Stop War On Iraq Sunday, February 16 in San Francisco 11am - Gather at Embarcadero Plaza (Market & Embarcadero) 1pm - March to Civic Center Plaza 2pm - Rally at Civic Center Plaza Sponsored by Bay United Against War, The Not in Our Name Project, United for Peace and Justice, The Int'l ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition, and thousands of other organizations and individuals.
