The event is free to SFVS members; $1 for nonmembers. Please read below for more information about this exciting group. The purpose of CARE is to transform public sentiment regarding animals in our country by presenting to the media and to large audiencesacross North America a message of compassion for animals, to mobilizepeople directly or indirectly into a nation-wide concerted action onissues of animal cruelty (e.g. factory-farming, animal experimentation), hunting-trapping and wildlife preservation. By living, working, speaking and teaching as vegetarians and vegans, CARE also aims to move our society towards a healthier lifestyle which is at once also more eco-friendly and compassionate. The CARE tour also features a "fauna vision" van (a van equipped with a huge video screen which allows for mobile education on city streets, made famous by Eddie Lama of the animal rights film "The Witness").These animal campaigners include CARE's vegan advocacy director,Brenda Davis, who is co-author of the best-seller, Becoming Vegetarian, its highly successful companion, Becoming Vegan, as well as Dairy-Free and Delicious. Her powerful, entertaining presentations are packed with cutting edge nutrition information, and she is a very dynamic speaker -- sometimes referred to as the female version of our beloved Howard Lyman!Anthony Marr, a world-known Bengal tiger preservationist, who hasconducted three major expeditions in deep rural India and undercoveroperations in Asia, as well as in America. He is an anti-hunting activist in Canada, and the author of a book entitled Earth's Shininig Destiny. The third member of the CARE team is assistant campaigner CoryDavis, age 14, who will be leaving his school and friends behind for the greater part of the year to tour for the cause he feels so passionate about. He will be regarded as a role model for the thousands of students he will be addressing on this nation-wide tour.DON'T MISS THIS EVENT! The presentation begins at 7:00 p.m.; lightrefreshments will follow the presentation.
