Guest guest
Hey Everyone, A Happy Holiday Season to you all. I am a vegetarian, (25 years) committed to showing everyone around me why a vegetarian lifestyle is of the greatest benefit to all. As we find the Holidays upon us most of us still have many friends, even family that we sit down to meals with every day that are meat eaters. For many years I took the badgering approach, or let me see how I can gross you out about meat consumption (in my twenties I worked for a meat-packing company) I swore off meat forever after I learned what went on in the meat industry) to get you to stop eating it. Most of my efforts simply landed on deaf ears or aroused anger and other bizarre reactions, (like God put animals on the earth to serve man). Hey whatever? Anyway little by little I changed my approach by inviting friends over and serving them a meatless, dairy less dinner without telling. till after it had all been consumed and my praises as a cook had gone around the table. Instead of the old scare tactics, I looked for ways my family and friends could decided for themselves that a vegetarian lifestyle didn¹t taste so bad and it was a simple way to a earth friendly lifestyle that spared our animal friends suffering. Which comes to the point of my e-mail. I began to want to reach out to my community on a larger scale with the idea that a veggie lifestyle was an all around good idea. I found an organization called Physician for Responsible Medicine who published a booklet called: THE VEGETARIAN STARTER KIT This great idea is available for .50 each. I then insert things like ³The World Watch Institutes report on meat consumption². Really anything you like, whether it may be great veggie recipes or reasons why a macrobiotic diet is good for you. Next I put them in my local libraries as a way of giving back. Every January I purchase 500 to 700 with the help of friends and family then through out the entire year I distribute them in my area libraries. If this sounds like a good idea to anyone here¹s the resource info: Yes, 200 VSKs (Vegetarian Starter Kits)will cost you $100-(.50 ea.). You can send the check to my attention at 5100 Wisconsin Ave. N.W., Suite 400, Washington, DC 20016-4131. Please include a piece of paper with your request on it. Ask for 200 VSKs and a list of Nutrition fact sheets. Thanks! Last but not least a great magazine I give every year. E, the Environmental magazine http://www.emagazine.com This magazine speaks for itself on the issue of meat and it¹s environmental impact. It¹s great for those folks who love to say ³I just don¹t believe that.² And a gift sub is so inexpensive. Thanks for your attention and Happy Holiday to all. As the great Albert Einstein said: ³NOTHING WILL BENEFIT HEALTH AND INCREASE CHANCES FOR SURVIVAL OF LIFE ON EARTH AS THE EVOLUTION TO A VEGETARIAN DIET.² ³ALBERT EINSTEIN²
