Guest guest
Hi, I got a very good response from my last posting about half-day 8 mile week-end hikes. In fact last weekend Jimmy joined me for the hike. I'll be away in Europe most of August, but I have one more weekend to go. As mentioned in my earlier posting, my default option is the PG&E trail, about 8 miles at the Rancho San Antonio County Preserve (http://www.bahiker.com/southbayhikes/rancho.html). Other suggestions are more than welcome provided they are half-a-day enterprises including driving both directions. IF NOT, You are welcome to join me between 8.30 and 8.45 am (leaving at 9 am for the hike) at the south most parking lot (left turn upon entering the park). For your information I have attached the park map with trails. The parking lots are shown with blue crosses; the parking lot from where we start has an extra blue-circle; the trail-loop is blue with other options (green and yellow). Though there is plenty of parking, the lots (4 -5) are normally full. For this reason chances to get parking are high before 9 am. The trick is look for parking all around, but then wait at one place.
