Guest guest Posted June 17, 2003 Report Share Posted June 17, 2003 Marinara Sauce 4 Tbsp. olive oil 1 large onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, coarsely chopped 4 28-oz. cans crushed tomatoes 1 6-oz. can tomato paste 2 Tbsp. sugar Salt and pepper to taste In a large pot sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until tender. Add basil, crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Add sugar and salt to taste and simmer for several minutes until ready to serve. You may serve this sauce with your favorite pasta or make pasta of your own. You may also add your favorite sautéed vegetable like zucchini or mushrooms.
