Crumb Crust for Pies

Source: Still Going Against the GRAIN/Potts (adapted)

 

1 1/2 cups quinoa or rice flakes

1/2 cup finely chopped almonds (or filberts, pecans, cashews, etc.)

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup vegan margarine or vegetable shortening

 

Combine and mix well. Press firmly onto bottom and sides of pie

pan. Bake about 18 minutes at 350 degrees.
