Guest guest
No, as this site http://www.calgaryallergy.ca/Articles/botanical.htm#Legume lists pulses as a sub-type of legumes. I am still looking, but the above site is a good one for categorizing foods according to botanical family. BL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What does Yhwh Elohim require of you? In my pre-allergy days I had the same conception of a distinction between beans and pulses, meaning by the latter peas and lentils. I don't know if that had any basis in botanical fact. However I have read that the food families relevant to allergies are often not the same as botanical families. A book I have, 'Food allergy and Intolerance' by Brostoff and Gamlin lists food families that seem relevant to allergy and list the 'bean and pea family, Leguminosae'. My son is allergic to all beans, peas, lentils etc - or at least all the ones we've tried. We've been told just to steer clear of all legumes, by which they meant beans and peas (and peanuts). Guest guest
Yeah, we were told to steer clear of all legumes but the dieticians went to great lengths to show us documentation that pulses were not legumes. I didn't keep the materials she showed us and can't find anything similar on the net, but I will keep looking until I am sure one way or another. I just know Alex can handle lentils and other dahl but he cannot handle most of the other beans. BL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What does Yhwh Elohim require of you?
