Guest guest
I may try this, Susie. I am just recalling that raw soybeans are very toxic (as are some other types of beans) and so dehydrating alone many not be enough to rid the toxin. I'll have to check into this further. I really love the idea and there must be some way that commercial soy nut companies prepare them that we can replicate. ~ LaDonna > How about soy beans (I know, you don't use soy. . .) but I'm wondering > about making my own soy nuts. It would be worth a try. You could soak them, put some spices on and then dehydrate to try and get something with a little more flavor. I know there are recipes out there that use sprouts with a seasoning and then dehydrating for a crisp snack.

It's the exact polar opposite of dehydrating, but might get them crispier and it also might get rid of the toxin. Hmmm. Now you've got ME thinking! LOL I'm off to make stuffing and broccoli salad and see if I can frost the pumpkin brownies/cake that I made earlier. Oh but first I need to clean the kitchen from the last fiasco I made so I can do the above.
