ygg,

Your Thanksgiving dinner sounds wonderful! It sounds like great

cooks run in your family! Thanks for sharing a part of

yourself...and for the great ideas you've shared. I am especially

impressed with the roasted root vegetables.

One question: where do you find chickpea miso?

Oh, and another question: do you have a way of making mashed potato

pancakes stick together without eggs? i realize you are lacto-ovo,

but i just thought I'd check.

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed your post!!!!!

my in-laws, really. ;) my own family has its share of great cooks, but

mostly in the german-american Amish traditions and in good old southern

cooking, neither of which are particularly soy-allergy friendly. ;)

i think the brand is miso master. i buy it at the local co-op.

organic gourmet also has soy-free miso, but it's made from oats.

i never use eggs. ;) just flour and sometimes yogurt or hummus. you

could probably make one of those work for you (dairy-free yogurt, for

example). but i usually just use flour and the potatoes (which already

have milk and butter in them). and i fry them in lots of oil or palm

shortening. no way around that if you want 'em to taste good. i fry so

rarely that it's a treat.
