Guest guest Posted October 28, 2002 Report Share Posted October 28, 2002 Mushroom-Walnut Pate' Source: Flax- The Super Food (adapted by LaDonna to GF) A mild, crunchy spread for crackers, raw vegetables, or bagels. 1 1/2 cups chopped onions 1 tsp. olive oil 3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms 1 cup walnuts 1 Tbsp. Bragg's Liquid Aminos 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 1/4 cup ground flaxseeds One 12.3 oz. box firm silken tofu Cook the onions in the oil until browned. Add the mushrooms, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the water has exuded from the mushrooms. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet while stirring. Pour the onion-mushroom mixture and walnuts into a food processor along with the Bragg's Amino Acids, nutritional yeast, flaxseeds, and tofu. Process for a short while until well blended but not smooth.
