Alfredo Sauce

Source: McDougall Quick & Easy Cookbook

1 package lite silken tofu

1/2 c. soy milk or water

2 T. tahini

1 T. soy sauce (gf or Bragg's)

1 T. nutritional yeast

1 tsp. minced fresh garlic

1/2 tsp. onion powder

freshly ground black pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Pour

into a saucepan and heat through, about 5 minutes. Do not boil. Serve over gf

This is another one of our favorites!!

Thanks for this recipe, Tracy. The Alfredo Sauce I use has cashews in it

(which I love) but I appreciate a lower calorie version. If you don't mind,

I would like to pass this recipe along to the Christian-Vegan-Cooking list.

There is a new vegan on the list and she is looking for something that

doesn't have tomatoes in it to serve to her children with pasta. Thanks!

You bet!! My family all loves this. It is very easy and lower in fat. In

fact, I even cut the tahini in half and it still tastes great.
