Guest guest Posted September 17, 2002 Report Share Posted September 17, 2002 Baked Beans Source: A Taste of Nature 1 lb. dried navy or great northern beans (2 1/2 cups dried) 1 cup chopped onion 3 1/2 cups crushed tomatoes (28 oz. can) 1/2 cup tomato paste 4 Tbsp. molasses 2 tsp. salt 2 Tbsp. honey (or alternative) 1 cup water Soak beans overnight. Drain, and cover with water in large kettle. Add onion and cook until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Place in covered 3 quart baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 1/2 hours, until thick. Good for picnics.
