Guest guest Posted September 8, 2002 Report Share Posted September 8, 2002 Seasoned Brown Rice 2 cups water 2 - 3 Tbsp. chicken-style seasoning 1 cup brown rice 1/2 onion, chopped 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil or vegan margarine 1/2 cup celery, chopped 1/2 cups carrots, shredded Heat olive oil or melt margarine in sauce pan. Add onion, celery, and brown rice. Saute for 10 minutes or so until some of the rice begins to pick up color from the sauteing. Add water and chicken-style seasoning and carrots. Cover and simmer on low for about an hour. Check at 45 minutess and if seems too dry, add some more water.
