Guest guest Posted July 30, 2002 Report Share Posted July 30, 2002 Apple Butter 8 apples-peeled, cored & sliced 4 cups white sugar 4 teaspoons cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon salt Fill slow crock with all ingredients. Cook on high for 1 hour, Reduce heat. Stir occasionally for 12 hours or until thick and a dark golden in color. Puree if desired. Fill small jars with hot apple butter, leaving about 3/4 inch space at top. Seal jar with their lids. Makes 10 8-oz jars. These make wonderful gifts. Write out the receipe and put it on the jar and then put a ribbon around the top of the jar and there you go, you have a beautiful gift for any occasion.
