Guest guest Posted July 10, 2002 Report Share Posted July 10, 2002 Rice Apple Crisp Source: Western Family Instant Brown Rice Box 2 cups Instant Brown Rice, cooked 1 can (20 oz.) apples, pie sliced 1 Tbsp. lemon juice 1 cup brown sugar, divided 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 cup flour (gf blend of choice if necessary) 2 Tbsp. margarine 3/4 cup pecans, chopped Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a prepared shallow baking dish, combine instant brown rice, apples, lemon juice, 1/2 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix flour (blend) and remaining sugar; cut in margarine, add pecans. Sprinkle over rice/apple mixture. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve warm. Top with favorite topping of choice (whipped cashew cream or tofu cream would be delicious!).
