Guest guest
NUTS -Nut consumption is linked to reduce risk for death from heart disease, according to both the Adventist Health Study and the Iowa Women's Health Study. Nut consumption may also increase longevity. The fatty acid profile of nuts (they are low in saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fat) may explain part of the relationship. However, studies show that non-fat components of nuts are probably responsible for some of their protective effects. These might include their protein, fiber, copper, magnesium, plant sterols, and phytochemical contents.
