Vegetarian Burgers or Meatballs

 

1 cup soaked garbanzo beans(yields 2 1/2 cups)

3 cups water

1 medium onion-chopped

3 tablespoons soy milk powder

1 cup pecan meal

2 cups quinoa flakes(or cooked quinoa or millet)

2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

2 tablespoons sage

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt-optional

3 tablespoons wheat free tamari sauce (or Bragg's Aminos)

1/4 cup oil

 

Place beans and water in blender and place in a large bowl. Add

remaining ingredients (except oil). Mix until well blended. Heat 3

tablespoons of oil in a large skillet. Place about 1/4 cup of

mixture onto skillet and flatten to make individual patties. If you

prefer meatballs, shape into rounds. Cover with lid and brown each

side for 5 - 8 minutes on medium heat.
