Guest guest
Hello. I wanted to introduce myself to the group as I just found and joined this wonderful group today. My 4 year old son has PDD-NOS (a mild form of autism) and is on a gluten free, casein free diet. He also has other IgG food allergies including eggs, resulting from a " leaky gut " which we are working on remedying. Prior to us knowing his diagnosis and need for a special diet, our entire family (me, my husband and my son) were on a vegetarian diet and working toward a vegan diet. Then everything changed with my son's diagnosis 2 years ago. Since my son was diagnosed and became so restricted with what he could/would eat, we reluctantly resorted to feeding him meat products to balance out his diet, though my husband and I remained vegetarian. Over the past year I have managed to figure out at least a few meals (buckwheat pancakes, potato pancakes, garbanzo bean muffins, etc) we can all enjoy together as a family that are gluten free and vegan too. But I sure wish I had known this list existed then, it sure would have saved me a lot of grief! I have been digging through the archives all evening -what a great resource. Hopefully I will be able to contribute something orignial too one of these days. Thanks for being here and I look forward to being part of the group.
