Guest guest
Hi everyone, There was a discussion about falafel a few weeks ago. I still haven't found a " quick and easy " recipe for homemade falafel mix, but I did finally find a GF mix. It was at a middle eastern store. There were several brands, most of them had wheat flour as an ingredient, but I found one brand which did not. The brand name is " Tarazi " , and it comes in a red box. The ingredients are: fava beans, garbanzo beans, spices, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, baking powder, dehydrated parsley, and corn oil. I have seen on some " foods to avoid lists " say that some baking powder is not GF. So if you think you may be sensitive to this, this brand of falafel might not work for you. I'll give it a try and let you know how it was for me. If you have a middle eastern store where you live, I highly suggest checking it out. There are some wonderful things to be found there, items not found in a regular American supermarket. Also, if you like tahini, it's alot cheaper at the ME stores. Happy eating, Christine
