Guest guest
Greetings, Here is a recipe for hummus, with a bit of a different twist from the usual. It is from the Spring issue of Veggie Life magazine. Flaxen Hummus 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed 1/4 cup warm water 2 cups cooked garbanzo beans, or 1 15-ounce can, rinsed and drained 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons tahini 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1 to 2 tablespoons wheat free tamari, or Bragg's Liquid Aminos 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin pinch cayenne pepper pinch black pepper In small bowl, combine ground flaxseed and the 1/4 cup water and let soak 10 minutes. In a food processor, combine all ingredients, and process until smooth. Per 1/4 serving: 99 calories, 5 g protein, 3 g fat, 3 g fiber This hummus is really yummy, with a very slight crunch to it from the flaxseeds. Enjoy, Christine
