Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update on my progress since beginning the GF diet. I started

on March 28, so it's been a couple of weeks now. When I first started, I

didn't feel any better right away, but after several days my intestinal

problems cleared up almost completely. I was amazed at how wonderful I felt!

No bloating, cramping or diarrhea, for the first time in a very long time.

I suffered a setback the other day, though, and had my usual symptoms most of

the day this past Thursday, and all day Friday. I felt better this morning

when I got up, but am still having some diarrhea. The only thing I can think

of that might have caused this is the falafels I ate for dinner Wednesday

night, and had again on Thursday for lunch. I thought they would be OK for me

to eat, thinking that they were made only of garbanzo beans. I was at the

HFS today, and looked at the ingredients on the bulk bin; there was no wheat

flour, but there was soy sauce powder. It didn't say if the soy sauce had

wheat in it, but I'm assuming it does, as most of the soy sauces I've checked

all have wheat, except for tamari, which I've always bought anyway, because I

prefer the taste. Has anyone else experienced a bad reaction to eating

falafels? I'm thinking that it was the falafels that caused my problems the

past few days, because I just can't think of anything else I've eaten that

may have had gluten in it. I am planning to start keeping a food log again.

I did this for a while, last year, when I was trying to figure out what was

causing my woes. Maybe then I'll better be able to track the culprits in my

setbacks. I'd love to hear anyone else's experiences with the GF diet, and

what types of foods have caused symptoms for you.

Peace and blessings,

Christine
