I looked through the one on desserts and breads the other day at the bookstore, and I wondered how easy it would be to convert the recipes to vegan, and if they would still be good without the eggs that she uses in quite a few of her recipes. * *I recommend delicious 100% flourless breads baked by Food for Life, Please note that in the sprouting process all the gluten is devoured by the enzymes, so these flourless breads are gluten free** Does anyone know if this is really true? If it is, this will be a lifesaver for me, as I absolutely love these sprouted breads, and they are easily obtained here where I live. Thanks for the info, Christine
Guest guest
I haven't tried any of the recipes - I just bought the book, more to read the info and tips she gives and to get an idea of foods I can eat. I have yet to do much experimenting in the kitchen, and I'm not one to spend a lot of time cooking in there! I don't eat eggs either, and for years I've used egg replacements in all baking with NO problem. Please note that many sprouted grain breads DO contain gluten, read all ingredients carefully. The Food For Life breads do not add gluten back into their breads from what I understand, so as long as it's true about the sprouting process devouring the gluten, which I'd have to say it is because of the source I got it from - then enjoy! But I might double check by calling or e-mailing the company just to be 100% sure.
