Guest guest Posted October 12, 2001 Report Share Posted October 12, 2001 Split Pea Rice Soup Source: Recipes from the Weimar Kitchen 1 cup rice 2 quarts water 2 cups split peas 2 tsp. salt 1 chopped onion 2 bay leaves 2 Tbsp. soy sauce Cook rice, salt and water until almost done in 2 quarts of water. Add 2 cups split peas. Cook until split peas are tender but not mushy. Chopped onion may be added with split peas or onion powder may be used with other seasonings after rice and peas are cooked.
