Guest guest Posted September 18, 2001 Report Share Posted September 18, 2001 Lentil Soup Source: Jackie B. 6 cups water 1 1/3 cups chopped onion 1 1/3 cups red lentils 1 cup chopped celery 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 2 Tbsp. Instant vegetable stock 1 tsp. parsley flake 1 bay leaf, broken 1/4 tsp. dried thyme Combine first 8 ingredients in large saucepan. Place parsley flakes, bay leaf and thyme in tea ball or tie in double layer cheesecloth. Add to saucepan. Heat, stirring often, until mixture comes to a boil. cover. simmer for about 30 minutes until vegetables are tender. Remove tea ball.
