Guest guest
Non-Dairy Parmesan Cheese source:3ABN 1/2 cup yellow flake yeast(nutritional yeast) 1/2 cup. ground sesame seeds 2 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. bills best chik'nish seasoning (we never use this) 3 tsp lemon juice Combine all ingredients except lemon juice. Place in a blender and blend. Add lemon juice and blend until smooth. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container. Use just like parmesan cheese. Note: I have never tasted this. I made it for my kids, and they love it. I have never used it in cooking, only on top of spaghetti or lentil, or split peas. Non-Dairy Parmesan Cheese Very good on pasta 1/2 C Nutritional Yeast flakes 1 Tsp Onion powder 2 Tsp Garlic powder 1 Tbs Lemon juice 1 Tbs Chicken-like seasoning 1/2 C Ground Sesame Seeds Mix together all ingredients and store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. The best way to grind sesame seeds is in a small electric seed or coffee mill. Guest guest
Thankyou so much, Elite! I think the blend of the yeast flakes, with lemon juice will give a nice " cheesy " tang to the recipe. And the sesame seeds will contribute a high level of calcium as well. I have come across many vegan recipes that use vegan parmesan cheese as an ingredient. Now I am looking forward to making some of those *Ü*!
