Guest guest
Sweet Dough Source: Wheat-free cooking 1/2 cup rice flour 1/2 cup bean flour pinch of salt 1 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon xanthan gum 1/2 cup shorting 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 cup buttermilk or applesauce (I used sour dough starter, worked great!!!) Combine flours, salt, brown sugar, and xanthan gum Add Shortening and blend until crumbly Dissolove Baking soda in buttermilk or applesauce and add to flour mixture Add more buttermilk or applesauce if dough is too stiff Roll on bloured board and cut into strips Place on tops of pies If you have dough left, cut into doughnut shapes, twisting into figure 8s before baking briefly in a bedium oven. We used Sour dough starter and it worked great, great taste.
