Dear Sharon,

I believe there are several list members here who's children are

celiac and may have some input that can help. Amy Lovelace has had

lots of experience in this area and when she sees your message I am

sure she will write in. I will pray for your son. . .it must be so

difficult to have him suffer so much.

I do have an idea regarding a natural laxative that may help. It

isn't " strong " but can be safely used every day. It might be

something you can use " in between " doctor's " orders " . Aloe Vera

juice acts as a safe and natural laxative and can be used daily. It

isn't necessarily delicious, but mixed with pure water I think your

son could get it down. The most inexpensive place I've found it is

at WalMart. . .about $7.00 for a large container.

I also recommend a book by Barbara Kerr called " Taste of Health " . It

is actually a cookbook for those with colitis, but many of the

principles apply. In it she speaks of her health troubles and the

routes that were taken in curing them. She has a large section on

taking care of colon troubles naturally and effectively. Her book is

available at Barnes and Noble and also the ABC Family Bookcenters.

Is there anyone else on our list who can assist Sharon with ideas and

solutions? I know she would appreciate your help.

Sincerely, LaDonna

PS: Sharon, my dh is the celiac in our family. He was diagnosed

last December. . .so I am still a bit new at this.
