Yield: 6 burgers

 

2 cups firm tofu, mashed

2 cups alfalfa sprouts

1/2 onion, chopped

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 cup tahini

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

1/4 cup grated carrots

1/4 cup parsley, chopped

onion powder, garlic powder, sage, or rosemary (optional)

 

Blend sunflower seeds in a dry blender to meal. Knead all

ingredients well in a bowl until sprouts are evenly distributed.

Shape into patties with a canning jar ring. Apply breading meal of

your choice or bake plain. Bake on oiled pan at 350 degrees for 20

minutes per side or until brown, or bake on a griddle. The burgers

are fragile, so be careful as you turn them. These burgers have a

delicate taste much like a fish cake.
