Guest guest Posted April 30, 2001 Report Share Posted April 30, 2001 Candied Yams Source: The Veggie Lovers Cookbook 5 yams, peeled and cubed 1/4 cup vegan margarine 1/2 cup brown rice syrup 1 cup pineapple, cubed 1 Tbsp. tamari 1 tsp. basil Place yams in baking dish. Melt margarine and syrup in small saucepan, add pineapple and tamari to hot mixture and pour over yams. Sprinkle with basil. bake at 350 ° for 30 - 45 minutes until potatoes are soft. Mash and serve. Serves: 4 - 6. *You may: substitute vegetable oil for margarine. . .and Bragg's Amino's for the tamari.
