Guest guest Posted April 24, 2001 Report Share Posted April 24, 2001 Spicy Pea Soup Source: The McDougall Health-Supporting Cookbook, volume 2 10 cups water 1 1/2 cups split green peas 2 carrots, finely diced 2 stalks celery, finely diced 1 large onion, finely chopped 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. paprika 1/4 tsp. cayenne 2 Tbsp. low sodium soy sauce (wheat-free) Place peas and water in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low, add remaining ingredients, cover and cook for 2 hours. Stir occasionally. When the ingredients are smooth like a puree, serve. Helpful hint: Stirring with a whisk helps to blend the ingredients.
