Guest guest
Sliceable Cashew Cheese Source: Nita 2 cups cashews 1 1/2 cups boiling water 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp salt 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 cup cold water 3/8 cup Emes Gel 2 tbsp yeast flakes 1 tsp onion powder Place all ingredients in the blender except the 1 cup cold water. Turn on the blender for 1 or 2 minutes until very smooth. (Hot liquids tend to splash, place a towel over blender.) Add 1 cup cold water, blend briefly and pour into a containers of your choice to chill and slice when firm. HINT: This recipe makes a white cheese resembling Jack Cheese. If you want half of it to resemble American Cheese in color, add 1/4 cup pimientos and 1 tsp paprika to half of recipe. This can be frozen, and shreds nicely while its still frozen. Good for pizza topping. To thaw, set out at room temperature for an hour.
