Guest guest
Hi Karen, I also discovered these brocoli slaws and i lightly stir-fried them in olive oil with asafoetida (or hing) which is a substitute for onions and garlic for those who do not use these, and i added chopped almonds (or slivered or sliced) with salt and pepper or your favorite herbs. This is a fast food for me as they do not need long cooking. Sometimes i also add fresh home sprouted moong beans and some braggs amino acids. Another way that i did also is to start with little water in the wok and a tiny bit of olive oil (or butter) and as the water heats up the fat spread all over the water and then i add the veggies and stir them all around to cover them as much as possible with this water and as the water evaporates the tiny amount of fat is enough to get the veggies to fry at the end. I uses this method with different veggies and i find it very safisfying without much fat agent. My favorite is with cawliflower as it becomes all golden at the end. But the " tricky part " is to uses as little water as possible so the veggies don't get overcook while frying. I hope this is not too confusing and that you get the idea. I also find they are less dry cooked with the water method. Good luck and let us know how you liked them. Renuka Thu, 1 Dec 2005 01:04:19 -0500 kleelibby Re: Broccoli Has anyone tried broccoli slaw? I saw a bag of shredded broccoli in the organic section of the local grocery, next to the shredded cabbage for cole slaw. Karen
