Guest guest
Pat, is today your b-day or was yesterday? At any rate, Happy Birthday! , " Pat " <veggiehound> wrote: > And don't you feel like a brute when you force poor Lizzy out for long walks and cut back > on her treats! ~ Well, actually i do feel guilty about the cutting back on the treats part, but she loves walks... long walks. i just have to be careful and let her build up to long walks first. This summer we started with 15 minutes a day, then each week increased it by 5 minutes until we were up to 30- 35 minutes. She was looking trim then. i think everybody gets a bit more trim in the summer, or at least wehave a better chance to get out and move around more. >Well, we do, anyway, with our two beagles - finally took some weight off > both of them (they were a couple or so pounds over, which is huge when you think of their > weight relative to ours) and us in the process. Good reciprocal relationship, eh? But now > it's getting to be winter . . . ~ Yep. i have three JRTs, and the two males are not fat. They just seem to move, run, and play more. One trick at treat time is to give Lizzy a little ice cube for her treat when i give them a regular teat. She loves crunching on them, and they have zero calories. Now why can't i be satisfied eating an ice cube like that? *lol* > > I needed that to cheer up this week :=) Thanks for noticing. I figure it's summer all year > round for veggie people. ~ It sure is. One guy over at tfv group said we eat rainbows of colors. i thought that was a great way to think about it, even if i am cutting back on fat and sweets... my plate never need be dull or boring to look at. i do need to up my activity level as well. i have really been enjoying the talk here about excersize videos. Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday. ~ pt ~
