Raw Inspiration - 10/2/05 - Transplanting Dead Cows

Some people will argue with vegetarians saying " You don't want to eat dead

animals but you are eating dead plants when you pick them " . But when you pick a

plant you don't kill it. It can still be transplanted. You can still plant its

seeds and get new life. So it can still give life to your cells when you eat

it. But you can't transplant a dead cow! And a cow can't reproduce after you

slaughter it. Likewise a dead cow does not have the ability to give life to

your body when you eat it.

Regardless, a vegetarian is one who abstains from eating animals. For someone

who eats

animals to criticize us for eating (some) plants is unsupportive at best and

aggressive at

most. It also lacks credibility for us to take such arguments seriously. While I

applaud

those who choose to be fruitarians in order not to unnecessarily destroy the

future life of

plants, for all the rest of us vegetarians to be made to feel 'guilty' by

carnivores for

keeping ourselves alive by eating (any) plants is ridiculous - as well we know.

Don't let em get to you. There are seriously intimidating people everywhere, ya

know? We

don't have to give them head room, and we don't have to let them interfere with

our lives.

Congratulations to all vegetarians, whether ovo-lacto (in whatever gradation of

it) or vegan

- or rawfoodist or fruitarian or . . . for not eating our fellow creatures.

It's Thanksgiving weekend here. I'm thankful I am not a carnivore.

And you guys? ;=)
