Hey, let's keep this friendly, eh??? LOL > I was always under the impression that a vegetarian didn't eat anything > that clearly involved the killing of an animal, which means other than > meat they/we don't eat gelatin I rather thought that's what Maida said. >and (if they're vegetarians for moral > reasons) avoid leather. Possibly. But some vegetarians consider that leather (except for the obvious exotic kinds) is a by-product of the already existing meat industry and as such hasn't caused the death of the animal just for the sake of its skin. With vegetarians it's about what is eaten, not what is used. With 100 per cent vegetarians or dietary vegans, it's about leaving out the foods from meat and also eggs, dairy and honey. Vegans, of course, avoid animal products altogether - as much as is possible in an imperfect world. But you know this, right LOL ? I think we all do, except perhaps for the newbies who might be very confused. (Relax, newbies - all shall become clear LOL) Best love, Pat
