I read Kay Shepphard's book's, " Food Addiction " and " From the First Bite " and

she believes along with many others that people are addicted to wheat and

sugar. I tried her program for awhile and like everything else it worked as

long

as I worked it - but she does not recommend it for vegetarians.

http://www.kaysheppard.com/ Also there is a www.foodaddictsanonymous.org

They have

some vegetarians but few. Also there is a celiac disease that people do not

have a lining in their intestines and cannot eat any wheat and many other

grains. You can go to Google and put in the word " celiac " and get tons of

info.

It is my understanding that it is the gluten that is the problem.

I have found for me it is the wheat that has sat in bins as white goo with no

nutrients that causes the wanting to eat more... it's taken me years to get

to that. It's the actual processing of the food that causes me to want more.

My cure today is: fresh food with life in it. If I eat dead food - I feel

yukky. Makes simple sense. I have a Vita-Mix and grind my own grains and make

scones occasionally. I don't want or eat much wheat products - they are too

processed. Ocassionally when I am out there isn't much else to eat so I do but

I don't feel too good if I eat more.

Sugar is rare - that is a big trigger food for me to eat more of anything.
