Guest guest
I found a recipe for urad dal at bwarchi.com that *seemed* interesting: 2c split urad dal 2tsp grated ginger 3 green chilies, chopped 1/2 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp turmeric 1 tsp cumin seeds 2tsp veggie oil Soak dal 2 hours. Microwave, covered, 9 minutes. Heat oil, add cumin seeds. Add powders & stir. Add ginger, chilies & dal. Stir 5 min. & serve. BLAH, blech, what the hell was this *supposed* to be like? The dal was kinda like 1/2 cooked rice. I used 3 jalapenos because that's what I had. I used more ginger than was called for. It was flavorless. Even after a good dose of salt. Help. <wimper> Bethie Beth “The right adult at the right time can make an enormous difference.
