Guest guest
Ms Pat, I agree on the occasional glass of wine compared to the high octane beverages. A nice chilled concord grape or blushing Zinfandel will do. From childhood I have my cooking preferences in the cream sherry and amontillado flavors. Those I get from my favorite market...some guy named " Joe " ...for much less than the high priced importers. These come from the same Jerez region in España and aged in the same casks. A little dash with those sauteed portobello and/or shiitake makes a wonderful aroma. Besides, my doctor would be a bit perplexed if I informed him I was giving up pistachios and sunflower seeds for my health. 8^)

LOL Brandy also comes from grapes of course - although it has a little help . . .. I'm not prudish about alcohol - I just don't do any of it any more. Not for now, anyway ;=) And now that I'm out of practice . . . well, I prefer not to be tempted. They have, however, convincingly shown that a glass or two a day has distinct health benefits. Best, Pat ;=)
