Hi Nicole - and everyone else, of course ;=)

Okay, this was the bit that I said I wanted to answer. You said:

>i was under the silly assumption that some vegetarians were activists.

Many vegetarians are both vegetarian and caring - as you well know - and

some, perhaps many, are activist. I could give a synopsis of my own activity

but I think this is not appropriate - I shouldn't have to defend myself and

neither should anyone else on this list. We don't go on about it here - and

don't organize action on this list - because as you see from the name of the

list

this is about vegetarianslimming - in a healthy way, including exercise. (Yeah,

well, marching is exercise too, I know LOL)

To add as acceptable topics for discussion on this list everything that might be

of interest to an activist vegetarian - such as activism at various levels in

the

cause of animal rights and welfare, the environment, big business

monopolies, kosher and halal practices, organic foods and farming,

genetically modified foods, the beliefs and influences of some religious

groups, and the activities of some governments with regard to the meat and

dairy industries, etc. etc., would take up all our time and energy and - here it

comes - it would be a very very different group ;=)

>i dont do CD anymore, but i still fight for the cause whenever i can.i

understand not everyone is this way

Well, don't assume! Many of us are - and many *do* 'do CD'. In that, you are

preaching to the choir ;=) But we have other lists to which we belong where

we can do that to our hearts' content.

I know, I understand, and I sympathize. It frustrates me too, many many times

a week :=( But I just get a grip and save that for elsewhere.

Btw, if you're interested at all, I have some links that have been gathering

dust

in one of the Links files for ages - to Animal Rights and Welfare sites. And in

case anyone is interested, I'll add a couple of Canadian sites to the links

which deal with environmental issues. Feel free to write me about this at any

time offlist, okay?

All the best and a friendly pat for the 'bean'.

Love, Pat ;=)
