Guest guest
>I can't describe how ill the Atkins' diet made me. My doctor >warned me before I tried it but it was all the rage at the time. >Yes at first I did loose some weight but it all came back plus >10 pounds. My kidneys shut down and I got very ill. I'm really really sorry to hear that - but I'm so glad you have mentioned this, considering those members who are (or have been) or have friends and partners who are on that or another extreme diet :=( I've tried most weightloss diets over the years, one way or another. Some work for me, some don't. The best one I have ever found - and by this I mean 'best' in taste, healthy content, comfort level, and results - is a low-fat vegetarian diet in smaller portions. Just that. Works for me like a charm ;=) Of course, it takes a little longer than some of the other so-called miracle diets - for me, at any rate, although others see dramatic results very quickly indeed. But it works. Once I am at a weight I like, I find I can indulge myself beautifully on the diet and not gain an ounce. It becomes not a weightloss diet but a lifestyle - and one becomes the envy of everyone who has to watch everything that goes into their mouths. I admit, it is travelling (and thus not always being able to control what goes into my meals) or inactivity that causes me to put on a few pounds now and then. But I've learned the hard way: Stay away from the fad diets. Best love, Pat ;=)
