One of these days, when I'm feeling brave, I'll try cutting the sugar and upping the Splenda to further reduce the calories. Annice * Exported from MasterCook * Fudgy Brownies Recipe By :adapted by me from an internet recipe Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Chocolate Cookies Low-Fat Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup cocoa 3/4 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup Splenda 2 egg whites 1/2 cup applesauce, unsweetened 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 tablespoon liqueur (chocolate or amaretto or coffee or whatever you like) 1 tablespoon peanut butter Spray an 8 " x 8 " pan with vegetable cooking spray. In a medium bowl, sift together cocoa, flour, baking powder & salt. (measure ingredients before sifting) Combine peanut butter with liqueur and warm in the microwave. It will be kind of gluey. In a large bowl, mix peanut butter/liqueur combo with sugar and Splenda. It will be crumbly and won't mix entirely. Whisk in egg whites, applesauce & vanilla. Combine flour mixture with egg white mixture. Put into prepared pan. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350F till a toothpick in the center comes out almost dry.
